CFP: The Cult Television Encyclopedia

-A +A

Later this year, the University Press of Kentucky will publish The Essential Cult TV Reader, a comprehensive examination of four dozen British and American cult programmes.

The plan has been all along to extend the book with a website that will offer additional entries on cult television shows and series. Any cult programme of any nationality is a possible subject.

The book itself covers the following, and submissions on any of these will be rejected:

24 | Absolutely Fabulous | Alias | Angel | Battlestar Galactica | Blake's 7 | Buffy the Vampire Slayer | Dark Shadows | Dexter | Doctor Who | Farscape | Firefly | Freaks and Geeks | Heroes | League of Gentlemen | Lost | Miami Vice | Monty Python's Flying Circus | My So-Called Life | Mystery Science Theater 3000 | Quantum Leap | Red Dwarf | Roswell | South Park | Stargate SG-1 | Supernatural | The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. | The Avengers | The Comeback | The Colbert Report | The Daily Show | The Prisoner | The Simpsons | The Star Trek Franchise | The X-Files | This Life | Torchwood | Twilight Zone | Twin Peaks | Ultraviolet | Veronica Mars | Wonderfalls | Xena: Warrior Princess.

Entries may be any length, may be hyperlinked and illustrated, should follow whatever style sheet the author is accustomed to, and can be submitted at any time to:
david.lavery@gmail.com

Each entry should offer a basic introduction to the programme in question, make the case for why it should be considered cult, and explore any other related topics the author feels relevant.

Please feel free to query first.

Feel free to disseminate this CFP widely and encourage students and colleagues to contribute.
